Mocama Beer Company
A Fernandina Beach brewery and taproom named for the Mocama, the coastal Timucua-speaking people of this region, pouring its own beer near downtown. Disclosure: Mocama sponsors our sister site.
Two breweries operate on Amelia Island, alongside a distillery and a beer-and-wine garden. Three of the four sit on South 8th Street and the fourth is downtown on South 2nd, which makes this a more realistic afternoon than the same list would be in a larger town — though 8th Street runs a long way south.

First Love Brewing is a brewery at 22 S 8th Street, Suite 5. We have confirmed its address, phone number and website directly (2026-09-10); opening hours and prices are not confirmed, so we do not publish them here.
Four places on this page and only two of them are breweries. The distinction matters, because it changes what they can pour you.
Both brew on the island. This is not a town with a brewery district; it is a town with two breweries, which is a different and in some ways better proposition — you can drink at both in an afternoon, and the person pouring may well have made it.
Marlin & Barrel Distillery at 232 South 8th Street distils rather than brews. Different licence, different product, often different rules about what can be poured and in what measure. Tours and tastings are the obvious question and we have confirmed nothing about either.
PJD's Beer & Wine Garden at 12 South 2nd Street makes nothing; it is where you sit outdoors and drink what other people made. On a coast where that is pleasant for most of the year, it is not a lesser thing.
Three of the four are on South 8th Street, which crosses Centre Street a couple of blocks up from the marina. First Love at number 22 and Marlin & Barrel at 232 are close together and close to downtown; Mocama at 629 is a longer walk south. PJD's is downtown on South 2nd.
So: three of these are genuinely walkable from the historic district and one stretches the definition. Check the addresses on a map before you plan a route on foot — and note that November is the driest month of the year here at 1.87 inches, while July averages 90.7°F with matching humidity.
If you would rather someone else planned it, tasting tours is the guided version. Bars and nightlife is the wider list.
We publish no opening hours, prices or menus for any restaurant on this island, because we have confirmed none, and several kitchens here close days of the week out of season. What every venue below does carry is an address, a telephone number and an official website, each checked on 10 September 2026. Ring before you walk.
