Key facts

Listings on this site are free and cannot be bought. We already hold a verified address, phone number and website for most island businesses — what we do not hold is opening hours or prices, for any of them. Sending us your hours is the single most useful thing you can do.

If you are already listed

Most businesses on the island already have a page here. 408 places are listed, and the address, telephone number and official website on each were checked against the operator's own listing on 10 September 2026.

What is not on your page, and will not be until you or a primary source confirms it:

  • Opening hours. We hold none for any business on this site.
  • Prices. No rates, no menu prices, no admission fees.
  • Photographs. We use our own or licensed photography with a credit, never scraped images.

So the single most useful thing you can send us is your hours — from you, not from a third-party listing that may be years stale.

What to send

Email hello@thingstodoinameliaisland.com with:

  1. The business name and the URL of its page on this site, if it has one.
  2. Address, telephone number and website — even if you think we have them right.
  3. Current opening hours, including the days you close and any seasonal change. This island's kitchens contract out of season and that is exactly the thing visitors get wrong.
  4. A one-line description of what you actually are. Not marketing copy — we write our own. "Neighbourhood Italian, mostly locals, small room" is more useful than a paragraph of adjectives.
  5. A link we can cite — your own site or booking page.
  6. Photographs, if you are happy for us to use them with a credit to you. Say so explicitly, and only send images you own.

What happens then

We verify what we can against your own material, publish it, and put the date we checked on the page. Confirming your hours also removes the "details unconfirmed" notice from your listing.

If you are not listed

Tell us and we will look at it. We list places that are useful to a visitor, whether or not they advertise, and we do not charge for a listing. What we will not do is add a business we cannot confirm exists at the address given.

What a listing is not

A listing is not an endorsement, and it cannot be bought. Editorial position on this site is not for sale.

  • We publish no ratings and no review scores, ours or anyone else's, anywhere.
  • Editorial ranking is our own judgement about what is useful to a visitor.
  • Sponsorship exists and is labelled. A sponsored listing carries a visible "Sponsored" badge on every card and every page where it appears, and sponsorship does not move a listing up an editorial ranking. See advertise.
  • Where the publisher has an ownership interest in a business, that page says "Owned by the publisher".

Removal

If you want your business removed from this site, email us and we will remove it. We will not argue about it.

Frequently asked questions

Does it cost anything to be listed on this Amelia Island guide?
No. Listings are free and are decided on whether the business is useful to a visitor. Sponsorship is a separate, clearly labelled product that does not affect editorial ranking.
Why does my listing say "details unconfirmed"?
Because we have not checked every field against a primary source. Address, telephone and website are confirmed for most listings; hours and prices are confirmed for none. Send us your hours with a link we can cite and the notice comes off.
Can I pay to rank higher on this site?
No. Editorial position is not for sale. Sponsorship gets you a visibly labelled sponsored placement; it does not move you up an editorial ranking, and we publish no ratings at all.
