Key facts

This Amelia Island guide is a static site with no accounts, logins, forms or database, so we collect no personal information directly. Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity load only when configured, and a tracker blocker stops both without breaking anything.

The short version

This is a static website. It has no accounts, no logins, no comment system and no forms. We do not ask you for personal information and there is nowhere on the site to give us any.

What is loaded

Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity to understand which pages are useful. Both are loaded only when their identifiers are configured for the build, and both are third-party services with their own privacy policies:

  • Google Analytics — Google's privacy policy applies, and IP anonymisation is enabled in our configuration.
  • Microsoft Clarity — Microsoft's privacy policy applies. Clarity records aggregated interaction data such as clicks and scrolling.

If you would rather not be measured, a tracker blocker or your browser's do-not-track setting will stop both, and nothing on this site breaks without them.

Fonts. Typefaces are served from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google's font servers.

Nothing else. No advertising networks, no social media pixels, no session recording beyond what Clarity does, no fingerprinting scripts.

What we store

Nothing. There is no database behind this site and no server-side session. The pages are static files.

The beach conditions page fetches a small JSON file from this same domain to refresh tide and forecast figures. That request contains no information about you beyond what any web request contains.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Netlify, which processes server logs including IP addresses as part of serving the site. Netlify's privacy documentation covers that processing.

External links

We link to businesses, parks, government agencies and news outlets. Once you follow a link you are on their site under their policies. Links to commercial destinations may be affiliate links; where they are, we mark them, and they never affect whether or where something is listed.

Children

This site is a travel guide for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Because we hold no personal data, there is nothing for us to export, correct or delete. For data held by Google, Microsoft or Netlify, those companies' processes apply.

Changes

If this policy changes, the last-updated date at the top of this page changes with it.

Frequently asked questions

Does this site collect personal information?
No. It is a static site with no accounts, logins, forms or database. Third-party analytics and Google Fonts are the only outside requests, and a tracker blocker stops the analytics without breaking the site.
Does this site use cookies?
The site itself sets none. Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity may set their own when they are enabled for a build; blocking them has no effect on the site’s function.
