Newsletter
Key facts
There is no sign-up form here yet, because we have not set up a list — and a box that quietly discards your address is worse than no box. Two RSS feeds are live now and need nothing from you, as are our open JSON endpoints.
There is no sign-up form here yet
We have not set up an email list, so there is nothing to submit. A sign-up box that quietly discards your address is worse than no box, and a form that collects email addresses before we have decided how we will store them is not something we are going to ship.
When it exists, this page will say what it sends, how often, who processes it and how to leave in one click.
What works today
RSS. Both feeds are live and neither requires giving us anything:
- News and updates — closures, openings, confirmed festival dates, storm impacts.
- Events — the confirmed dated calendar.
Any feed reader takes those. So does an email-to-RSS service if you would rather have it in an inbox — which puts you in control of the data rather than us.
Machine-readable data. If you want the underlying records rather than a feed, our API endpoints publish the entity index, the beach records and the beach conditions snapshot as JSON, with CORS open. Free, no key, no sign-up.
What the newsletter will be, when it exists
Short, and about the island rather than about us:
- What changed. A beach access closed for repairs, a bridge closure, a park alert, a restaurant that has shut or opened.
- Confirmed dates. Festival dates as organisers confirm them, rather than the guesswork that circulates months ahead.
- The seasonal thing. Turtle nesting opening and closing, right whale season, the month the water actually becomes swimmable.
- What we verified. Which records moved from unconfirmed to confirmed, because that is the useful measure of whether this guide is getting better.
Roughly monthly. No sponsored placements inside the editorial section — if a sponsor ever appears in it, it will be labelled, in the same way listings are.
If you want to be told when it launches
Email hello@thingstodoinameliaisland.com and say so. We will keep your address for that one purpose, use it once, and delete it if you tell us to. See privacy for what we do and do not store.

Frequently asked questions
- Does this Amelia Island guide have an email newsletter?
- Not yet. There is no list and no provider wired up, so there is nothing to sign up to. Two RSS feeds are live in the meantime — news and events — and both work in any feed reader without giving us an address.
- How can I follow updates to this site?
- Subscribe to the news feed at /news.xml or the events feed at /events.xml in any feed reader. For the underlying data, the JSON endpoints listed in /llms.txt are open, keyless and CORS-enabled.
