Summer Beach festival
A internationally significant classic and collector car event held each March on the south end of Amelia Island, centred on the Ritz-Carlton and the adjoining golf course, with auctions, seminars and a concours judging weekend.
The Concours is the event that puts Amelia Island on calendars in Europe and Japan, and it is unlike anything else on the island's schedule.
Held each March, it is centred on the Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island and the fairways of the adjoining golf course on the island's south end. The core of it is a concours d'elegance — collector and competition cars judged on a lawn — surrounded by a week of auctions, seminars, road tours and evening events.
It sits in the top tier of North American car events alongside Pebble Beach, and it draws the machinery and the people that implies. Major auction houses run sales the same week, which is why the island's accommodation and restaurants behave the way they do in March.
Book accommodation months ahead if you are attending, and expect the south end to be busy and the A1A corridor slow. If you are not attending, the north end of the island and downtown Fernandina Beach are far less affected than they are during Shrimp Festival — the Concours is a south-end event.
Tickets are sold by the organisers in tiers, and the schedule of what happens on which day changes each year. Weather has forced format changes in past editions.
We do not publish unconfirmed dates or prices. Check the event's own site for the current year's schedule, ticket tiers and venue arrangements before booking travel.
We have not yet confirmed this year’s dates with the organiser, so we are not publishing one. Recurrence pattern: Annually in March. Check the organiser’s own listing before booking travel — festival dates on Amelia Island move by a week or more between years.
Nothing confirmed on our calendar for this festival yet. Our events feed only carries dates we have checked against an organiser or an official calendar.
